SPAR Women’s Challenge Botswana in the Starting Blocks for April Race

SPAR Botswana and the Lady Khama Charitable Trust have teemed up to bring the SPAR Women’s Challenge to Botswana. The SPAR Women’s Challenge races originated in Pretoria, South Africa 26 years ago and now take place in 6 locations across the country.

Mirroring this show of solidarity to raise funds for those in need in Botswana, Lady K. RUN21 Trail Run will be joined by the first ever Botswana SPAR Women’s Challenge.

“We strive to make a significant difference in our communities, supporting charities with all the proceeds generated through these races. SPAR has always been dedicated to the betterment of people’s lives, and the upliftment of communities,” commented Ian Wilson, Export Manager SPAR North Rand.

SPAR Botswana collaborated with Clover and Bokomo to sponsor this women’s race in Gaborone. We are aiming for one thousand entries for this year’s race and we are encouraging women from all walks of life to enter and be a part of this event. Entrants and fans can look forward to lots of fun, comradely and friendship bonds.

The charity that will benefit from the proceeds of this race is the Lady Khama Charitable Trust. Since 2004 this trust was privaleged to support local charities. Charities that benefit greatly, are those who assist women and children in need of social care, education and medical attention.

The SPAR Women’s Challenge Botswana will take place on Sunday 14 April 2019 at 9:00am. The University of Botswana Stadium in Gaborone is the starting point of the 5km race. Entries are P100 each. Please note that you can only enter this race by filling out your entry form at any SPAR store in Gaborone.
